Introducing the inaugural community cricket match: The Ashford Ashes!

Join us on Sunday 7th June 2026 at Ashford Prep School for a civilised afternoon of community cricket and friendly rivalry between alumni, staff and parents.

Location: Ashford Prep School
Format: 11-a-side | 20 overs per innings
Timings: 2pm to 5pm
The stakes: The first-ever Ashford Ashes trophy!

THE TEAMS
We are recruiting for:

• Alumni / Friars Old Boys: open to all former students and staff of Ashford and Friars.

• The Headmaster’s XI: a mixed team open to everyone - staff, parents and alumni overflow are all welcome to join.

TIME FOR TEA
Players and supporters are invited to join us for a classic cricket tea in the Pavilion halfway through the afternoon. Light refreshments for spectators and players will be available throughout to keep energy up!

GIVING BACK
The event is free to attend, but we are inviting optional player donations on the day. All proceeds will go directly to the Ashford School Association, supporting the school's ongoing community initiatives and fundraising for the school's charity, the Ashford School Foundation.

IMPORTANT INFO
Fair play: in the spirit of the game, the match will be umpired and scored independently.
Safety: first aid coverage will be provided by designated members within the playing teams and attending trained school staff.
Shuttle bus: for those travelling by train, we are looking into providing a shuttle bus service from Ashford International to the Prep School site. If this is something you'd be interested in, please do drop me a message alumni@ashfordschool.co.uk
